Reaching 100 blog posts feels like a moment to take stock—not just of the words written, but of the journey they represent.
When I started blogging, it was a space to test ideas, share reflections, and connect with others curious about the role of sport in society. Over time, it’s become something more: a record of growth, a platform for provocation, and a way to stay accountable to the questions that matter.
So it feels fitting that blog #100 coincides with my feature in Loughborough University’s Intelligent Questions series. The website post and video captures a shift—from early career researcher to someone now recognised as an expert in the field of women’s sport, governance, and social impact. It’s a reflection of the work I’ve done, but also of the work still to do.
In relation to women’s sport, it is more visible than ever. From the Lionesses’ EURO 2022 legacy to the global reach of the Women’s World Cup, there’s growing belief in its power to drive gender equity. But visibility doesn’t always equal impact. My research—and this latest blog—asks: What kind of change is really happening? And who is it for?
This milestone is a thank you to everyone who’s read, shared, challenged, and supported along the way. Your engagement has helped shape the direction of my work and sharpen the questions I ask.
Here’s to the next 100 blogs—where we keep pushing for nuance, equity, and a sport sector that truly reflects the diversity of those who care about it.
